Within Us Among Us is a six-week preaching series inspired by the 2023 General Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky.
A six-week sermon series, Within Us Among Us was designed to help Disciples congregations engage the scriptural texts and themes at the heart of the 2023 General Assembly — but its undated structure means any congregation can use it in any season. The resource equips preachers not just with text and outline, but with liturgy and worship suggestions that connect the sermon to the broader arc of a worship service. Its availability in three languages reflects the Disciples commitment to a multilingual church that preaches and worships across cultural contexts.
The resource features scriptural reflection, interactive worship suggestions, connections to Disciples ministries, and other ideas to use in your ministry context, available in Spanish, Korean, and English.
Several Disciples preachers also modeled sermons on the General Assembly focus texts as part of a companion Preaching Workshop held in January 2023. These recorded sermons can be viewed alongside the series as additional preparation resources.
