Why it might be helpful: The Working Preacher offers weekly sermon guidance for proclaimers following the Revised Common Lectionary, as well as the Narrative Lectionary. This website also includes a Bible index so individuals can search any Scripture passage to access relevant commentaries, lectionary readings and worship planning tools. Why it might be helpful: I’ve found it helpful as a Disciples preacher and honestly am not sure how to cope without it at this point. It’s been informative and has definitely given me pause as to each Scripture. Probably more helpful for folks who preach from the lectionary than those who preach series, though I preach series and still use it. You can look up scriptures and see if there is commentary on it. It is also more progressive which I find really helps because a lot of resources have such a conservative leaning to them.
