Preaching for Weddings and Funerals (Korean)
This resource for Korean-speaking preachers, which contains material for preparing for weddings and funerals, was commissioned by the Proclamation Project with the support of NAPAD and was written by a small group of Korean-speaking Disciples preachers.
혼례와 장례를 위한 설교 (Preaching for Weddings and Funerals) is a downloadable guide for Korean-speaking preachers in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), addressing the distinctive pastoral challenge of preaching at weddings and funerals. This resource was commissioned by the Proclamation Project with the support of NAPAD (North American Pacific/Asian Disciples) and written by a small group of Korean-speaking Disciples preachers drawing on their pastoral experience in Korean-language ministry. It is the original Korean-language edition of a resource that was later translated into English.
Wedding and funeral sermons place a preacher at the intersection of personal grief or joy, family expectation, and theological proclamation — often for people who are not regular members of the congregation. This resource provides scriptural grounding, homiletical frameworks, and practical guidance specifically shaped for the cultural and pastoral context of Korean-speaking Disciples communities.
